Hello and Welcome
My name is Dr. Ify Okadigbo, and I am a decolonial feminist scholar, educator, and activist with a strong commitment to equity, empowerment, and justice.
My academic journey and over a decade of diverse experiences have been driven by a passion for amplifying marginalized voices, especially those of African women. As a Teaching and Research Assistant at York University, I focus on gender and women’s studies, striving to challenge systemic inequalities while nurturing the next generation of critical thinkers and leaders.
I firmly believe in the power of education and community to create transformative change. My work bridges academic research with real-world activism, ensuring that knowledge is not just theoretical but practical and impactful. Guided by my vision to foster inclusive spaces where women can thrive and my mission to dismantle barriers to equity, I have dedicated my career to uplifting voices and inspiring action that leads to societal progress.
Through collaboration and a focus on social justice, I strive to connect people, ideas, and resources that enable growth and solidarity. Whether it’s through my teaching, community engagement, or advocacy, my ultimate goal is to empower individuals and communities to envision and create a world where equity, freedom, and dignity are universally upheld. My life’s work is a testament to the belief that every small act of change contributes to a greater, collective transformation.
